Corpo + Cidade (lit. Body + City), the result of the partnership between the DDD and Porto-based school Balleteatro, is back this year in a digital format.

With the artistic direction of choreographer Isabel Barros, in a programme shared with performer Flávio Rodrigues, Corpo + Cidade was created in 2014 with the aim of promoting new urban experiences, in a cross between the various contemporary languages of dance. In 2016, with the creation of DDD - Festival Dias da Dança, Corpo + Cidade maintained its mission, that of programming for the public space, changing its name to Corpo + Cidade DDD OUT.

"Humanizing, getting closer and, in some way, disturbing the senses, creating new connections to space and to the relationship with architecture, are aspects that have characterised Corpo + Cidade since its creation. Given the pandemic situation, this year's edition will be held 100% online, encouraging the artists to embrace new ways of thinking about this new place, which the public place experienced in the virtual dimension. The challenge was accepted and the artists will astonish everyone with the new proposals created in close collaboration with video and film artists”, explains Isabel Barros.
