Cafézinho [Little Coffee] is a multi-generational reflection on time and its finite nature, featuring a cast of dancers, singers and musicians between the ages of 23 and 61. Inspired by Pina Bausch’s Café Müller, this work explores that choreography as a monument of contemporary dance. It proposes dancing the stubbornness of staying alive and desiring in times of hopelessness—by moving bodies, desires and affections—and also rethinking the classics and the canons, questioning what we would like to survive time. An invitation to break out of the purgatory of uncertainty and awaken new forces, facing time with courage: ‘Time, if it is to eat me, let it be with my consent.’ — Gaya de Medeiros
