The piece O Elefante No Meio Da Sala addresses issues such as: making choices, the moment to start and to finish, the real vs. performance, power dynamics between those who observe and those who are observed, expectations, the right to rest, following impulses, … 'simply being' on stage or in the studio is important? Is it required? Is it interesting? And why is there such an abysmal difference between the residency and the premiere? Or simply between the closed rehearsal vs. the open doors one? I’m interested in building tools so that internal listening — the gut feeling — and the commitment to the artistic object do not overlap or be sacrificed in the period of time between the creation and the exhibition. In this workshop, we will go through tasks, guided improvisation and with the exhibition of minipieces created at the moment, challenge limits and dwell in the fluidity of mutation.
