Aina Alegre freely interprets the dances and energy of flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya (1918–1963). This artist had a varied career, from Barcelona to Hollywood, from the Universal Exhibition to the White House, from the Flamenco tradition to Ravel's Boléro. Her presence permeates the bodies, sound and light of this new piece by Aina Alegre, like a fleeting ghost. Seizing on this heritage and revisiting it, the dancers enter the ball with élan, propelling themselves through the electrified space and summoning the energy of this figure through their own dazzling dance! — Aina Alegre
