Imagination and rhythm as a medium of invocation

Imagination and rhythm as a medium of invocation

For this workshop, I'd like to share some of the useful ideas that we practice during the process of FUGACES. In this piece, we cited the ghost of Carmen Amaya, a flamenco figure whose story and dance became the driving force behind our research.
How, through our imaginations and a sensitive approach, can we reactivate a body from the past? A distant dance? We'll be working with the body's rhythm and music, and exploring different qualities and movement sequences, using video archives to generate a physical state in which this figure appears. — Aina Alegre
