RITO [rite]

GRITO [scream]

Our ancestry is both Future and Present. We are bodies in dense, intense, erotic, sisterly relationships.

Who are the women that preceded us? Who are the ones that inhabit us? The ones we will never see? Which pleasures did they have? Which freedom? Which voice? Which silence? Which secrets? Which room? We are we, too?

There is an annulment of linear time and concrete space; geography dissipates, and inheritances mingle. It is us, our great-grandmothers, grandmothers, mothers, all daughters of story that must be rewritten since whoever told it did not hold the truth – just the power. Such scream shatters in a clumsy yet hyper precise narrative, exact at the point of pleasure - which is struggle and delight, orgasm and sharing, strength and vulnerability.

The voice leads the rite – a voice which is a scream so many times unheard. Here, we feel. Here, it is in the skin we listen. There is Past and Future but we stop at the Present where everything is, now. Among the machines, the harvest, the red, the anger and the love. We do get rest. Our bodies are still a political manifesto.
