Since 1995, the year in which Alain Buffard met and collaborated, for the first time, with Anna Halprin, the French choreographer decided to one day dedicate a work to one of the pioneers of American postmodern dance. Although not a mere dance movie or a mere interview, “My Lunch With Anna” is a portrayal and a dialogue disclosing Halprin’s work. Based on five lunch meetings between Halprin and Buffard, this work reveals the process of creation and her experiments in movement.
