André Uerba
André Uerba is a choreographer, performer and body therapist. He has lived in Berlin since 2013 and holds a master's degree in arts, solo, dance, authorship from HZT Berlin. Since 2018 Uerba has been developing group works, often involving local performers, both amateur and professional. His work lies between the performing arts and body therapies. His projects Burn Time (2018), Fire Starter (2019), A hole the size of your touch (2021) and Æffective Choreography (2022) have been presented internationally in theaters, festivals, museums or galleries in places such as Indonesia, Germany, Taiwan, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Belgium and Cyprus. As a recipient of the Pina Bausch Fellowship (2023), Uerba assisted in the Norma training, a project by Diana Niepce. At the beginning of 2023, he finished his training as a Sexological Bodyworker (ISB Berlin) and has been giving individual and couples sessions ever since. His practice also includes mentoring and facilitating workshops. As a performer he has worked on projects by Tino Sehgal, Bernardo Chatillon, Antonija Livingstone, Clément Layes, Alexandra Pirici, Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, Rafael Alvarez, Karnart, Miguel Moreira, Carlota Lagido and Ana Borralho & João Galante.
