AURA + João Oliveira + Wura Moraes
AURA was born in 1997, at Porto, and is a transdisciplinary artist who fuses visual arts, performance, theatre and dance to explore gender and sustainability issues.
Her work has been showcased across Portugal, Poland, France, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, namely The Transformation of the World (2022) and 7 ≈ 8 (2021). Holds a master's degree in Performance Making by Goldsmiths, University of London, and is graduated in Fine Arts and Intermedia by ESAP - Escola Superior Artística do Porto. Aura has collaborated with Carlota Lagido, Raimund Hoghe, Alessandro Bosetti and Aki Nagasaka. Participated in several workshops and programmes with over 30 international creators, among them are Ron Athey, nora chipaumire, Marta Ziólek, Mårten Spångberg, Adriano Wilfert Jensen.
João Oliveira began his artistic career at the balleteatro, where he studied theatre, continuing his trainingin in dance at the Bath Spa University in the United Kingdom. In 2021, he completed Performing Arts Management/Production Course by Forum Dança. As a creator, he is the author of the pieces Dois Peixes na Marte (2021) and Caem Calhaus do Céu (2022). As an interpreter, he collaborated with several directors and choreographers, such as Carlos Costa, Né Barros, Willi Dorner, Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz, Filipe Moreira, Roberto Olivan, Ricardo Pais, Madalena Vitorino and Bernardo Gavina.
Wura Moraes is a Luso-Brazilian dancer from Amarante. She holds a degree in dance from Faculdade Angel Vianna, in Rio de Janeiro, and graduated from the École des Sables in Senegal and the École de Danse Irène Tassembedo in Burkina Faso. Her research focuses on the intersection between contemporary, urban and Afro-Brazilian dances. Currently, she lives and develops her choreographic work focusing on the triangulation between Africa, Latin America and Europe.
