Camilo Mejía Cortes
Camilo, a multidisciplinary artist from Cali, Colombia, grew up immersed in music and dance but far from the institutional path until the age of 21 when he decided to follow a dance education programme in Barcelona. His passion for improvisation and performance led him to SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, where he performed with Bodhi Project and Cecilia Bengolea’s Sounds of Trap. He also joined Needcompany, performing in War and Turpentine, Isabella’s Room, and more. Recent works include The Sadness, directed by Ula Sickle, Draconis Lacrimae, a piece by Pablo Lilienfeld and Federico Vladimir, OUTWALKERS by Moya Michael. Mejía’s latest work includes collaborating with Cherish Menzo on D̶A̶R̶K̶MATTER.
