After having graduated from the Istanbul Technical University’s Department of Architecture, in 1997, Filiz Sızanlı has participated in various projects at the Theatre Research Laboratory of Istanbul Municipality Theater. In 2000, she was among the initial co-founders of the Çatı Contemporary Dance Artists Association in a collective artists’ group. She worked with several choreographers, among them Mathilde Monnier, Emmanuelle Hyunh, Mustafa Kaplan, Yann Marussich and Julie Nioche. In 2003, she founded the Taldans Company with Mustafa Kaplan. In 2020, she graduated from MFA at the MSFAU Contemporary Dance Department with the thesis “Choreographic Research In The Limited Space” and in 2021 began her PHD from the same department.
 
Mustafa Kaplan studied Telecommunication and Electrical Engineering at the Yıldız Technical University in Istanbul. During his studies, he started taking dance classes Turkey pioneer of contemporary dance Geyvan McMillan and took theatre lessons ath the Bulunmaz Theatre Companyin. After dancing in the Modern Ballet Company between 1989 and 1992, he worked at the Theatre Research Laboratory, which was part of the Municipal Theatre of Istanbul as a choreographer and dancer for about ten years. He is the co-founder of dance and performance companies, such as YeşilÜzümler Dance Company, Dans Fabrikası, Taldans Company and Çatı Association. Kaplan has participated in many theatre and dance festivals in Turkey and abroad with his productions and also performs dance/movement workshops while currently teaching at ÇATI Contemporary Dance Artists Association, Mimar Sinan University Contemporary Dance Department and Istanbul Okan University Conservatory Theater Department.
