Piny
A Human BEING for whom curiosity, dream and experimentation are major learning forms, Piny is performer, choreographer, researcher, teacher, feminist and facilitator of mixed practices. Born in Lisbon of Angolan heritage, Piny graduated in architecture and, after a postgraduate degree in scenography, both at the Architecture University in Lisbon, she completed her degree in contemporary dance at ESD in Lisbon. In 1999, she began studying dances from the Middle East and North Africa and their contemporary fusions, and since 2006 she has also been dedicated to Hip Hop and Clubbing culture, through dance (Breakdance, House, Waacking, Vogue), Djing with the Soulflow collective and graffiti. In 2006, she founded the crew ButterflieSoulFlow and , n 2012, the collective Orchidaceae, presenting their creations and teaching at festivals across Europe, America, Asia and Africa. From her own work, she highlights the solo HIP. A pussy point of view, Periférico (in collaboration with Vhils) and .G RITO.
