Sónia Baptista has a degree in contemporary dance from Fórum Dança and a master’s degree in choreography and performance from the University of Roehampton (London, United Kingdom). In 2001, she won the Ribeiro da Fonte New Talent Award from the then Ministry of Culture in the dance category for Haikus (her first piece). Her work has since explored and experimented with dance, performance, music, literature, theatre and video, and she has presented pieces at several festivals and theatres in Portugal and abroad. She is associate artist at AADK Portugal.
